Premium Warehousing
Situation
A local Warehouse and Distribution centre needed to upgrade their systems to include a wireless handheld system for facilitating quicker booking in and out of stock. This was in order to win a major contract and the project needed to be completed quickly in order to win the business.
Approach
We performed several wireless surveys of the area involved.
Liaising with a third party who was to provide the software and handheld barcode scanning units, we managed the project for the customer from start to finish.
Using this information we created and quoted a CISCO wireless solution for the customer to cover over 300,000 square feet of warehousing space, including Wireless Access Points, Switches, cabling and cabinets.
Impact and Advantage
The customer went ahead with the quote and within a month we turned around the project. The prospective business was bought into the warehousing to audit the solution and it was found to be perfect for the customer’s new business requirements.
The customer won this major contract and off the back of this has won several other key business customers as well, all utilising this wireless system as the base for an efficient operation they have the utmost confidence in.
