Situation
A local Living Support company in Northampton required to be fully GDPR compliant and have full traceability of their company data, emails, etc.
Approach
The company already had some of our services and cloud infrastructure in place. However this only gave some limited options going forward to fulfil the brief.
Leveraging our partnership with ESET, we quoted for Safetica – Data Loss Prevention. This system (that is relatively new the UK, and we were the first UK reseller for this product) allows fully transparent auditing of the companies data, emails and other services. Allowing for automated reports and responses, data loss can either be reported and / or mitigated fully.
On the email side of things, Office365 was already in place, so the tools provided by Microsoft were tweaked and put into action to protect this side of the business. Legacy protocols were locked down to secure the tenant. User accounts were limited rights to the cloud applications in Office 365.
We also removed the option to save screenshots as another data loss prevention measure.
Impact and Advantage
After installation of the system, setup and training, the system is now in place and functioning well. Accidental DLP breaches have already been mitigated for the customer.
The customer is very happy with the solution.
