PCI Compliance

CJR Midlands

Situation

A local retail company were failing their PCI Compliance Testing for various reasons. Ashby Computers were asked to audit the failures and produce a project to resolve all the issues.

Approach

We visited and audited the sites current infrastructure, audited the failures of the PCI Compliance scan and met with the customer for a project planning meeting.

Utilising a CISCO and HP hardware solution, we produced a scope of works for the customer to include new HP POE switches (to enable Layer 2 and 3 technologies across the site) and a CISCO firewall.

The sites ISP needed to upgrade the internet connection with more public IP addresses, this aspect was project managed by ourselves.

The site have retail tills, card machines, public and private Wi-Fi, an IP-based phone system and office PCs and private server. All on the same flat network. This had to be changed to VLANs for each aspect of the network.

Impact and Advantage

Once the proposal had been agreed and accepted, Ashby’s liaised with all 3rd parties to ensure that the changes went smoothly.

With three days on site for the project, all works were completed as requested in a timely fashion.

Almost immediately the PCI Compliance scans passed and the customer could then finish off the questionnaires and were granted compliance.

Subsequently the site have had a random PCI Compliance scan and this has also passed.

The customer is very happy and the project has been an amazing success.
