Situation
A company in Kettering were a new start-up and did not know what technology to use that would help them today as well as when they grow. They were concerned the technology today would not fit their needs in 12 months’ time.
Approach
Ashby Computers advised all their equipment is always sold with growth room and would allow them to expand their work force without a costly increase in IT expenditure. We listened to their technology needs and saw an in house server was the right choice.
Impact and Advantage
New windows 10 CAD workstations were installed with options to add extra CPU, RAM and upgraded graphics cards in the future should the requirements change. A new Server 2019 server with secure remote VPN access to be able to access drawings remotely.
The advantage of the inhouse server meant granular permissions on the files and folders could be achieved and that the data all resided in one location which was key to REDD.
