Windows Server 2003 – End of Support
Windows Server 2003 is now end of support.
This means that any version of Windows Server 2003 based servers (including Windows Small Business Server 2003) will no longer receive updates or support from Microsoft.
Updates would include security patches for flaws in the underlying operating system, and these will no longer be patched. This is a major security concern for customers running Windows Server 2003 based servers as hackers or viruses can use these flaws to undermine the operating system.
As a Microsoft Gold partner, we usually call Microsoft to log support issues that are we cannot resolve ourselves, however we can no longer do this for Windows Server 2003 issues. We will however continue to support Windows Server 2003 for some time, but will not be able to rely on Microsoft’s help if we need it.
We urge customers still running Windows Server 2003 based servers to contact us to talk about moving away from this operating system to a more modern foundation for their business IT infrastructure.
